Pushpa is grating coconuts using a kokornie grater. She moves the husked coconut back and forth and the sharp metal scraper shaves off slivers of flesh which fall in a snowy heap into her bowl. She will squeeze it to extract most of the rich and deliciously creamy milk and will use the finely grated flesh as well. What will she make? Salara? Metem? Cookup rice? Coconut buns? Sugar cake?
